JASON Tindall says Joelinton's passionate celebration in the stands during the midweek Arsenal victory was evidence of the togetherness in the Newcastle United squad.

Joelinton missed the game with injury but kicked every ball from his position in the stands just behind the dugout.

Come the second half, the Brazilian was joining in with chants and twirling a black and white scarf above his head after Anthony Gordon's second goal on the night, that secured the Magpies a place in next month's Carabao Cup final at Wembley.

Tindall said: "Every single player plays their part day in, day out. Whether you're in or out of the team. To see the guys in the stands supporting the players was incredible. It's such a tight-knit group.

"A lot of people, myself included, say it's the best group we've had in terms of togetherness and the will and support for each other."

Tindall believes that togetherness will benefit Newcastle in the run-up to the final, as, he says, will the experience gained from their last Wembley appearance two seasons ago.

He said: "Two years ago when we got to the final, there was a lot of talk. It was our first time at a final in a number of years.

"It was a new experience for many of the players and the staff as well and the fans and maybe the occasion got to us.

"We'll learn from that and we'll approach it as we approach any Premier League game.

"We have to learn the experiences we've had before. It's another game and we have to deliver the level of performance we've delivered in these semi finals.

"We'll do our analysis, it's a one-off game and we'll go to Wembley and give it our all and hopefully this time we can get over the line."

Tindall hailed Newcastle's players for the performance over two legs in the semi-final.

"Arsenal are a top team," he said.

"They've been fighting in all competitions and have been on a good unbeaten run. It was important we stuck to the plan. The players have to take full credit for the way we performed."
